OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Dear Roger,

Vann Thorng lives with his wife, two sons and daughter in the village of Chan Sa, Cambodia.  He and his family work on their farm growing rice and vegetables.  Before your donation, they drank water from the same place they collected water for their chickens, cows and crops.  As a result, the family was often sick.

Now, with the biosand filter in this picture, the family can filter up to 80 liters of water a day.  Vann Thorng can now feel confident that the water he provides for his family is clean and safe.  Thank you Roger for your support of Vann Thorng and his family!

A filter provides clean water for a school!

A clean water filter for Mak and his students

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your kind donation. Your donation has purchased a bio-sand water filter for Tatauk Primary School in Tatouk Village, Chan Sar Commune, Soutr Nikom District. Over three hundred children now have potable water available during the school day. Even though the school had a pit well as their water source, the well is only 20 feet deep and exposed to the elements which add contaminates. A filter was still needed to provide clean safe drinking water. All of the children and the head teacher are very happy to have the filter and potable water to drink.

In addition to having clean drinking water, head teacher, Mak Sareth, was able to teach these children the importance of drinking potable water, and basic sanitation and hygiene. Now the children can share this information with their families and the other villagers throughout this remote region so that more rural people will understand why drinking clean water is better for their health.

Thank you, Chris, for giving these Cambodians an opportunity to live a healthy life.

But Callan, you have gone even further in helping Chea and Savath’s families by providing a water filter so the water they drink will be safe and healthy. Both families want you to know, Callan, how much they appreciate their new well and filter and what a great difference it will make in their lives.

The wives gather water to prepare dinner from the new well.
