Khlath is a rice farmer in Cambodia, and using his oxcart and 4 cows, he is able to grow and store 1,500 kgs of rice for his family for the season. They live in a simple house made with palm leaf walls and have 1 motorbike for the family’s transportation. Khlath’s 5 children will no longer suffer from diarrhea and other water borne illnesses because of their new water filter. Hang Chea and family now enjoy good health

Hang Chea lives in a family unit of 10 females and 4 males.  These families all live in palm leaf houses. They have 1 motorbike, 3 bicycle and an oxcart to get to school, the market and their rice field. With his 2 cows, Hang Chea and his family grow rice and can store away 2,100 kilograms for the season.

Since their water source is not reliable, the family often falls prey to water borne illnesses, because of which the children end up missing school.

Pi’s family will no longer all prey to water borne illnesses

Hi Pi is a rice farmer, who lives with his wife, daughter and two sons in a wood house in Tropaing Thom village, Reul commune, Puok district. He is a rice farmer, is able to grow and store away 1,750 kgs of rice for the season. He also has two cows and oxcart, which helps with providing milk and helping take produce to the market. The family also has a bicycle and a motorbike.

Though Pi’s family has access to water, the water is not hygienic, and the family kept falling ill with diarrhea  and other water borne diseases. Your donation of a water filter, Dennis, will ensure that the family now has clean drinking water. Their health will now improve, and with it, their quality of life.

Vorn Hoeub’s family can now start growing vegetables

Hoeub and her husband have three daughters and two sons. They are both farmers, and they cultivate about 1,200 kgs of rice, which they use for their needs and sell. They live in a wood house and have 1 motorbike, 1 bicycle, an oxcart and 2 cows. Apart from the two cows, they do not have any other livestock with which to add to their food securities.

Song and her family will now remain healthy

Bun Song and her family live in Tropaign Thom village, Reul commune, Puok district. Song, her husband and their seven daughters are all farmers and they live in a house with palm leaf walls. The cultivate about 120 kgs of rice every year, which needs to last them the entire year. They also have a pig, which they breed to earn some extra income.

Song and her family live in an area where they do not have access to clean water, and the family constantly falls prey to water borne illnesses, specially diarrhea. Thanks to your generous gift of a bio-sand water filter, David, the family will now have healthy water to drink.

Mr. Yim can provide water for his 280 students

Mr. Yim teaches at the Tea Banh Primary School located in Yothin Pika village in rural western Cambodia. Before your donation, his students (150 boys and 130 girls) did not have regular access to clean water during the school day.

Thanks to the Bellevue Rotary Club, Mr. Yim can provide his students clean, save drinking water throughout the day. The water filter you provided can filter up to 80 liters of water per day, providing plenty of water for all of the students!

Tong Saran lives with his two family units comprising of 11 men, women and children. Saran and his extended family are rice farmers. With their 4 cows they work hard to provide enough food to feed their sons and daughters. They have to make 650 kigs of rice last through the season. Their 4 chickens help supplement their food securities. Saran and his family live in a wood house and share 1 bicycle to get around.

Since the family doesn’t have a source of reliable drinking water, they used to fall prey to waterborne illnesses. Your donation, Katie, has enabled Trailblazer to donate a bio-sand water filter to Saaran and his extended family. They can now filter their water, to get clean and safe drinking water. Knauv Soeum lives with his wife, three sons and a daughter in a palm leaf house. They live together in the village of Tropaing Thom in rural western Cambodia.

Knauv Soeum and his family support themselves as farmers. They spend long days working in the fields to grow about 400 kg of rice per year. Rice forms the base of all of their meals.
