Dear Chris,
Thank you for your kind donation. Your donation has purchased a bio-sand water filter for Tatauk Primary School in Tatouk Village, Chan Sar Commune, Soutr Nikom District. Over three hundred children now have potable water available during the school day. Even though the school had a pit well as their water source, the well is only 20 feet deep and exposed to the elements which add contaminates. A filter was still needed to provide clean safe drinking water. All of the children and the head teacher are very happy to have the filter and potable water to drink.
In addition to having clean drinking water, head teacher, Mak Sareth, was able to teach these children the importance of drinking potable water, and basic sanitation and hygiene. Now the children can share this information with their families and the other villagers throughout this remote region so that more rural people will understand why drinking clean water is better for their health.
Thank you, Chris, for giving these Cambodians an opportunity to live a healthy life.
