Smiling Heart School is an English medium school, started by a local Cambodian woman, in the district of Siem Reap, rural Western Cambodia.
Around 100 students study in this school, all of whom hail from very poor families. Some of these children are orphans while some others are HIV infected.
These children hail from families who have no access to clean water and often travel long distances to gather water for their needs. The water is unclean and safe and needs to be boiled and cooled before consumption. Despite taking these precautionary measures, a number of children fall sick often, affecting their school attendance and grades. More so, for the HIV infected children, whose low levels of immunity makes them most susceptible to disease.
Your generous donation, David, enabled Trailblazer to provide a water filter to Smiling Heart School, thus, giving access to clean water to almost 100 disadvantaged children. With this filter, the school can now filter up to 80 liters of clean and safe drinking water, each day and keep the children protected from disease.
Thank you so much, David, for this thoughtful gift of a water filter!
